چکیده

Objective: Migraine and tension-type headache (TTH) are the most common primary headaches. It was aimed to obtain information about pathophysiology of these headaches by performing visual evoked potentials (VEPs) patients with migraine TTH. Material Methods: Healthy individuals, episodic migraine, TTH were included in this prospective study. Pattern reversal flash VEPs performed all participants. VEP applied while interictal period. In addition, severity analyzed Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results: Thirty-one healthy 27 patients, 31 Age gender not different between groups (p>0.05). VAS scores (8.0±1.2) higher than those (6.5±1.1) (p <0.001). The mean right/left P100 wave latencies control, TTH, 89.8±7.5/91.0 ± 6.2, 91.0±4.9/91.3±5.2, 97.6±8.1/97.1±7.5 ms, respectively. P2 104.7±15.9/104.8±14.5, 98.6±11.5/98.7±10.8, 115.5±16.3/118.3±6.2 P100, P2, N3, P3 waves group control (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study showed that had controls patients. These findings may indicate central mechanisms as well peripheral play a role originates from tissues.

Pattern reversal visual evoked potentials in migraine subjects without aura.

Twenty seven patients with migraine without aura were investigated. The age was between 12 and 54 years; 5 were men and 22 women. The diagnosis of migraine was made according to the classification proposed by the International Headache Society. The method of visual evoked potential was performed with pattern reversal (VEP-PR), with monocular stimulation. The stimulation was performed with patte...

The pattern--reversal visual evoked potentials in children with migraine with aura and without aura.

PURPOSE Studies of the visual evoked potentials (VEP) in migraine have yielded contradictory results. Several investigators suggested that VEP may be helpful test in diagnosis of a child with headache. The aim of our study was to compare interictal pattern-reversal visual evoked potentials (PR-VEP) in children and adolescents with migraine and tension-type headaches and to evaluate VEP paramete...

Migraine, tension-type headache, and transformed migraine.

Migraine and tension-type headache (TTH) are highly prevalent primary headaches that remain underdiagnosed and undertreated in clinical practice. The similarities and differences between migraine and TTH may impose diagnostic challenges as well as management difficulties. In addition, the possibility of migraine chronification or transformation in daily or near-daily headache raises the potenti...

Visual evoked potentials during long periods of pattern-reversal stimulation in migraine.

We have previously shown that during repetitive pattern-reversal stimulation, lasting 2 min, the amplitude of the visual evoked potential (PR-VEP) increases in migraineurs when tested interictally whereas it decreases in healthy control subjects. According to Sappey-Marinier et al. (J Cereb Blood Flow Metab 1992; 12: 584-92) habituation of the PR-VEP in normal subjects is maxima after 12 min, a...
